Our staff are professional dog trainers that have extensive experience and training in the daycare environment. This level of expertise sets us apart from other doggy daycares. Our staff are capable of working with dogs with a variety of behavioural issues, temperaments and socialisation levels. All of our team share a huge love for dogs and are passionate about dog training and behaviour. Our staff always ensure that the dogs are safe and cared for during their visits with us. We love getting to know our doggy customers and we can guarantee that our regular customers will see a familiar face upon their visit. We particularly enjoy connecting with customers who train with us at Alpha; We love following their training journey.
About Our Team
A vital component of our team is our staff dogs. The trainers dogs are trained to a high level of obedience and are used in the daycare process. Staff dogs are used to assess the temperaments of our new dogs and help the new dogs to settle in before they meet other customer dogs. Most of our staff dogs are highly social and enjoy playing with their doggy friends every day.
History of alpha doggy playcare
Alpha Doggy PlayCare is based in Knoxfield, Melbourne and caters to dogs and puppies of all shapes and sizes. Founded by Greg Fontana and George Visentin, Alpha Doggy PlayCare forms part of The Alpha Canine Group
In 1996 Greg and George established their own Dog Training business known as Alpha Dog Training. Throughout the years, they have constantly adapted and evolved the training method, with a strong emphasis on providing services that are easy, relevant and useful to dog owners. Also in 1996, Greg decided to start his own complementary business, Boarding School for Dogs, eventually to be named Alpha Boarding School for Dogs. These are some of the businesses that form The Alpha Canine Group.
After so many years in the industry, it was a natural and logical progression to open Alpha Doggy PlayCare at the new Alpha Canine Centre in Knoxfield. It has been founded by highly experienced, professional dog trainers with a genuine love and passion for dogs, therefore you can be assured your dog is in very capable hands.
Since opening in 2014 Alpha Doggy Playcare has established a strong customer base, with many of our doggo friends attending multiple times a week. We cater to breeds of all shapes and sizes and specialise in being able to tackle dogs with serious behavioural issues. Due to our extensive expertise we are able to work with dogs that other doggy daycare’s simply can’t!
The Alpha Canine Centre
The Alpha Canine Centre is a home for all of your dog’s training and socialisation needs. The centre has been open since 2014 and continues to develop over time. There are a number of training services available all days off the week; with our weekly group obedience classes being a very popular option. Other training services that operate at the centre include private lessons, short courses and Socialisation classes.
The Centre is staffed 6:30am-6:30pm Monday - Friday; so there is always someone available at the centre to answer questions and give advice over the phone or in person. The shop is also open between these hours where you can buy training equipment, dog food, dog beds and dog toys!
The Alpha Canine Centre provides everything you need to train and socialise your dog. We can also refer you to the Alpha Boarding Kennels located in Macclesfield if you need your dog looked after overnight. Ultimately, The Alpha Canine Group provides the full experience for you and your dog.
